I have so many close friends (or family of friends) who are in life-threatening medical situations right now. 5 cancer related, 2 genetic disorders - 1 waiting for a transplant, 1 just received a transplant. You know my thoughts on cancer. My hatred continues. However, this is the first time I have come face-to-face with the juxtaposition of transplant prayers. We pray for organs to be available before it is too late for my loved one...which means it IS too...

"Why are you so vocal about the Oklahoma teacher walkout?" has been asked of me multiple times in the last 2 weeks. You are right, on the surface, it may seem a little strange that a Missouri-girl, non-teacher, would be so vocal about the walkout in Oklahoma. However, my husband & I were some of the first to "walkout" on Oklahoma schools. In the Spring of 2003, my husband was finishing up his undergrad degrees at Oklahoma State University (I had already gra...

  3. Why did you stop making episodes of Everyday Adventures Podcast?

  4. Why haven't you made any more videos?

For some odd reason I want to both be super organized, have a plan, weigh the pros & cons, AND be spontaneous, open to every opportunity, go with the flow. Those things don't always live well together in my life.

They are opposing pressures internally & externally. I have to keep reminding myself that now I am on my own in this business thing, not only do I not have anyone to bounce ideas off, but I also don't need the "ask permission" mindset. I just need t...

Hello again,

I'm talking about tangible social change, from big movements to small groups craft can change people and our way of seeing the world.  I think we all Know and feel the benefits of creating something with our hands, that it can be a confidence boost...

When Carolyn, from HangUps Jewelry, talked to me about X37Adventures...

I always love the start of new things, the start is full of hope, ideas, and excitement. at the start you can let your imagination run wild (this can be bad, if you get sucked into the ‘what might go wrong’ train of thought) and dream of all the things you want to do, which is why I love our #FutureFridays tag. it's the chance to share all the things that excite us and keep us dreaming.

this week we rolled out our newest idea, a themed post each day, outside...

A new year = a new adventure!

In Nov 2015, while showing at The Hip Handmade Market, I met Crystal Moody. Her dog portraits drew me in. We chatted. She was excited to hear me ramble about the Fountains Project & how one little idea snowballed into life changing projects. She too had taken on big projects for the last two years (A Year of Creative Habits). A few weeks later, she posted that she would be sharing her experience with a community of interested cr...
